When my daughter was 16, her best friend died in an automobile accident- an accident that she caused, not from drimkimg or doing drugs, but from a momentary distraction. Distracted driving is the singled greatest risk, especially for new drivers.
Inexperience kills.
What can we do to protect our young drivers? There are laws against texting while driving -- but they still text. There are laws against using a handheld phone while dribing -- and yet they still call.
Evidence has shown that "driving simulators" can give young people the "virtual experience" of what can happen in a moment of distracted driving.
The video below shows how these simulators give inexperienced drivers "experience."
